About This Event
Do you like apples? Explore the science behind one of fall’s favorite crunchy fruits! In this hands-on workshop, we’ll investigate why apples turn brown and how we can slow the process down. Young scientists will experiment with various liquids to discover which ones help keep apples from turning brown. Then, put on your engineer hat! Using apple pieces, challenge yourself to build the tallest tower you can. Along the way, we’ll explore what makes a structure sturdy and discover strategies for building a tall, stable tower. We’ll finish with an apple painting experiment, combining creativity and science to create art with apples. Come explore, experiment, build, and create with apples!
