Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ is its published card rate; we don't mark it up. Some cards, like American Express or one from abroad, cost a little more, and that difference is yours.

Before you sign up
- Is the free plan a trial?
- No. There's no time limit and nothing switches off at day 30. Families pay the booking fee, so on Free you pay us nothing unless you choose to absorb it.
- Can we absorb the booking fee?
- Yes, for your whole organization or one listing at a time. Families then pay just your price, and 3.7% of the price + $1.79 a ticket goes to Famlo and Stripe's processing to Stripe, out of your payout.
- Can families pay us in cash or by check?
- Not for a paid class or event booked on Famlo: those are paid online, so every family sees one price. Money you collect outside Famlo is yours, and we take nothing from it.
- What happens if we cancel?
- Export your ledger, registrations, rosters and attendance as CSV, then schedule deletion. It's gone in 30 days. No exit fee.

The staff who run a group's classes and its door — leaders, class organizers, front desk, and a teacher for children in their own class. Not other parents, and not a group's bookkeeper. Only while your family is a member or your child holds a booking with them. Cancel or refund the booking and it closes.

So how does Famlo make money?
- What does Famlo cost a family?
- An account is free, and free events are free. When you book a paid class through Famlo you pay a booking fee: 3.7% of the price + $1.79 a ticket, plus the cost of processing your payment, so the provider receives the full price they set. It is already in the price you see. Some providers cover it themselves, and then you pay just their price.
- Do scholarship bookings carry the fee?
- No. Scholarship bookings carry no booking fee, because Step Up pays the provider directly and the money never passes through Famlo.
- Can I get the booking fee back?
- If the provider cancels, or you were charged twice by mistake, you get everything back, booking fee included. If you ask for a refund yourself, the provider refunds the class price under their policy, and the booking fee is not refunded unless they choose to refund it too.
- Who can see my child's allergies and medical notes?
- The staff who run a group's classes and its door — leaders, class organizers, front desk, and a teacher for children in their own class. Not other parents, and not a group's bookkeeper.
