About This Event

Reconnect and reclaim the ancient tradition of braiding and head wrapping. Isis Brantley, matriarch of the Black ancestral, natural hair movement will be hosting a camp for young girls and boys ages 8-13 to learn the practice of braiding and head wrapping. Though the focus will be on traditions from Africa, children of all ethnicities are welcome to join. Please visit https://www.naturallyisis.com/about to learn more about Isis Brantley and her work and activism in the natural hair movement. Please email naturallyisis@yahoo.com by September 20th to register. This program is brought to you in collaboration with the Office of Arts and Culture as part of the Culture of Value Month.
