Off the Page: Anthony Horowitz

The Off the Page Literary Celebration, hosted by Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources, features bestselling authors, writing workshops, book signings, and more during the month of November. All Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources locations participate. Events are also held at partner locations like Ringling College of Art and Design, or other offsite locations. Anthony is one of the most prolific and successful writers in the UK, working across many different media - YA fiction, detective novels, TV, films, plays and journalism. Best known for his Alex Rider adventures which have sold over 21 million copies worldwide, he works mainly in the spy, thriller and mystery genres. His Hawthorne stories, in which he appears as an unlikely sidekick, has sold well over a million copies and a sixth book in the series, "A Deadly Episode," was published in April 2026. His three bestselling crime novels, "Magpie Murders," "Moonflower Murders" and "Marble Hall Murders" have all been filmed for the BBC with Lesley Manville in the lead role. "Marble Hall Murders" is scheduled to air in 2026. Working with his wife, producer Jill Green, he also wrote and created the award-winning television drama "Foyle’s War." His other books include continuation novels of both Sherlock Holmes and James Bond. He has been awarded the CBE for services to literature and lives in London with his wife and two sons.
