A Day with George and Martha Washington

Please join us as we host Cara and Bill Elder, historical re-enactors from Deland, Florida for this special 250th program featuring George and Martha Washington as they discuss Events Surrounding the Declaration of Independence: 1758-1776. They will regale us with stories from the early years on the plantation, the problems with crops and prices, the hardships England was causing with taxation without representation, protests in the colonies, from the siege of Boston to the defense of Long Island, and how the Declaration of Independence was created and adopted. All ages are welcome! If you are unable to attend this 2:00 pm program, The Elders will also be at the Anastasia Island Branch Library at 11:00 am in the morning.
