ClassDojo checks kids in on co-op day and keeps a chat for each class. On Famlo families register for each class themselves, add each child once, and allergies, medications and who may collect them arrive on the roster teachers take attendance from.

Take payment when families register
ClassDojo takes no payments for programs; its payments product is for school districts. On Famlo families pay by card when they register, into your own Stripe account, and pay a booking fee unless you cover it. On the Scholarship plan, Step Up families choose “my scholarship pays” and Famlo writes the invoice.

Gather your families’ emails
Start from your member list or sign-up sheet; each family’s email is all Famlo needs. Famlo needs:

Upload the file under People. Families already on Famlo join your group; everyone else gets an email to sign up and add their children once.

List your classes free. They go on the map and your public page, and you send families one link. Stuck on a step? famlo.co/support opens a ticket with the team.
Questions about switching from ClassDojo
ClassDojo is free. Why switch?
If messages and check-in are all your group needs, ClassDojo is a good free choice, and families may already have the app. Famlo is free to list and run too, and adds what ClassDojo doesn’t do for programs: registration, payment by card or Step Up, and a listing families nearby can find.
Does Famlo have class chats like ClassDojo?
Famlo has announcements and messages to everyone registered, in the app and by email, but no group chat yet.
Do families pay anything on Famlo?
Families pay a booking fee only when they book a paid class, unless you cover it. On ClassDojo, families are offered ClassDojo Plus, an optional subscription that keeps the app free for everyone else.
What if we leave Famlo?
Export your registrations, rosters and attendance as CSV, then delete your group. There is no exit fee.
Where ClassDojo’s figures come from
Each one is ClassDojo’s own published number or wording, linked to the page it came from. Our build fails if any of them goes six months without being checked again.
