With Famlo, you can:
Yes Own your families’ list and reach them without the feed Yes Give families one place for the week, not a post buried under replies Yes Get paid in the group’s name, not someone’s VenmoNo card. Listing stays free whether or not you ever collect a penny through us.
Facebook Groups were built to keep people scrolling.
Facebook Groups: a feed that buries your schedule under everything else
Famlo: one place your group runs on, and families nearby can find
You’re ready for Famlo if any of these sound like you
Families ask “are we still meeting Tuesday?” every single week
A location change gets buried under thirty replies
Group money runs through your personal Venmo
Who has paid lives in a spreadsheet only you can read
“Count us in” is your headcount for Thursday
Find the families who aren’t in your group yet
Your Facebook group reaches the families who already found it. Famlo puts your classes on a map homeschool parents near you search by their kids' ages, and Local insights shows you what they want that nobody nearby offers yet. Keep posting in the group, and send everyone to one link.
No card. Listing stays free whether or not you ever collect a penny through us.
A post is not a roster
“Count us in” in the comments isn’t a registration. On Famlo, families add their children once, allergies, pickup and signed waivers arrive with the sign-up, and each person on your team sees their own part.
No card. Listing stays free whether or not you ever collect a penny through us.
Collect the money in the group’s name, not yours
Venmo to one person ties the group’s money to that person. On Famlo, cards go to the group’s own Stripe account, on the Scholarship plan Step Up families choose “my scholarship pays”, and every roster shows who has paid.
No card. Listing stays free whether or not you ever collect a penny through us.
The complete homeschool platform
Everything a co-op, class or microschool runs on, and everything the families on the other side see.
“Ivy came home from science lab every Thursday with something new to show us. Lena makes it feel like a real lab.”
June Marsh · Science lab, fall term
“Registration took two minutes, and I never had to retype the allergy list. That alone sold me.”
Maria Reyes · Membership, 60 days in

Upgrade from Facebook + Venmo to Famlo in three steps
Bring your families over in an afternoon, and keep Facebook + Venmo until this term ends.
-
1
Download your families from Facebook + Venmo
Export the group's member list, or gather your families' emails from your sign-up form. Famlo needs:
- Each family's email
- A role for anyone on your team, if you want one
-
2
Invite them in one go
Upload the file under People. Families already on Famlo join your group; everyone else gets an email to sign up and add their children once.
-
3
Publish next term
List your classes free. They go on the map and your public page, and you send families one link. Pin one link in the group, and keep posting there. Stuck on a step? famlo.co/support opens a ticket with the team.
Questions about switching from Facebook + Venmo
Our Facebook group is how people find us. Do we give that up?
No. Keep the group; it is your recruiting channel and no software replaces it. Famlo handles what a post is bad at: who is registered, who has paid, and who is coming on Tuesday.
We only collect a small amount of money. Is this overkill?
Possibly. If nobody pays for anything, Famlo is free and you would use it to be findable. The moment you are chasing anyone for money, the spreadsheet is where it starts to hurt.
Is it really free?
Listing and running your group is free, with no time limit. Families pay a booking fee when they book a paid class, unless you choose to cover it. Free events stay free.
Our families won’t download another app.
They don’t need one. Your page opens from a text with no account. The families who want the app get the app; everyone else gets the information.
Do we have to take payments through Famlo?
No. The roster, the schedule and announcements work whether or not money ever moves through Famlo.
What if we leave Famlo?
Export your registrations, rosters and attendance as CSV, then delete your group. There is no exit fee.
Where Facebook + Venmo’s figures come from
Each one is Facebook + Venmo’s own published number or wording, linked to the page it came from. Our build fails if any of them goes six months without being checked again.

The tools cost nothing. Everything below is what they cost in other ways.

Running group money through a personal payment account ties it to one person's Social Security number. HSLDA and HomeschoolCPA both warn about the tax exposure that creates for the organizer.

A Facebook group is not a record. Leaders describe a location change buried under thirty replies, and missing messages for days in a group they run themselves.

A Google Form has no roster, no balance and no link to who has paid, so who owes what lives in a second spreadsheet that only one person reads.
