On Homeschool-Life, class and program registration and teacher administration start on Academy. On Famlo they’re on the free plan: families add their children once, allergies and pickup arrive on the roster, and teachers take attendance from their phone.

Homeschool-Life is priced per family for the whole year. Famlo charges your group nothing on the free plan; families pay a booking fee when they book a paid class, unless you cover it, and on the Scholarship plan, Step Up families choose “my scholarship pays” and Famlo writes the invoice.

Questions about switching from Homeschool-Life
Ten dollars a family is not much. Why switch?
For a 40-family group on Academy that is $478 a year, paid by your group for every member family whether or not they take a class. On Famlo’s free plan your group pays nothing; families pay a booking fee only when they book a paid class, unless you cover it.
Homeschool-Life gives us a whole website. Does Famlo?
Yes, on the Website plan: your own site on your own domain, built in Famlo. On the free plan you get a public page with your week that families open from a link and find on the map. If a website is all your group needs, Homeschool-Life can cost less.
Can families subscribe to our calendar on Famlo?
Yes, from your own Famlo website on the Website plan: families subscribe once and every class you publish appears. Calendar feeds also exist per activity and per signed-in family.
Homeschool-Life has group conversations. Does Famlo?
Famlo has announcements and messages to everyone registered, in the app and by email, but no group chat yet.
Can we switch in the middle of our year?
Yes. Set up next term on Famlo while your Homeschool-Life year runs out, then let it lapse at renewal.
What if we leave Famlo?
Export your registrations, rosters and attendance as CSV, then delete your group. There is no exit fee.
Where Homeschool-Life’s figures come from
Each one is Homeschool-Life’s own published number or wording, linked to the page it came from. Our build fails if any of them goes six months without being checked again.
