North Carolina requires you to provide a name for your home school when filing with the DNPE.
The person responsible for the operation of the home school. Must hold at minimum a high school diploma or GED.
North Carolina requires the chief administrator of a home school to hold at least a high school diploma or its equivalent.

What Your Letter Will Include
Based on NC General Statutes 115C-564 through 115C-565, your letter will include:

Relevant Legal Language
Under NC General Statute 115C-564, each home school shall be operated by the owner on a regular schedule, excluding reasonable holidays and vacations, during at least nine calendar months of the year. The owner shall hold at least a high school diploma or its equivalent. Under 115C-565, the owner shall notify the Division of Non-Public Education upon opening the home school.
